Have finally watched this show, (its been a busy week). So glad I took the time to as a shop here has 50% off canvas's and it finishes today! I was looking at them yesterday in the shop, and thinking I would like to use some but not sure how, as I don't really like stretching quilts over the edges. I really like the idea of sewing them on like laura does. so I'll have to go and get some now. :D

Seeing Laura Cater-Woods has inspired me! She speaks so eloquently to the creative soul! Her process of layering images in variable transparent layers is incredibly exciting. I cannot wait to work in such a manner. I had put one art piece away for two years as I really had no vision as to how I needed to proceed. This show has given me the inspiration and creative direction to move on. This is absolutely one of my very favorite TQS shows.

What a great show! When I saw Bridget, Ritzy and Margo's 2009 BOM quilts I whooped out loud! Great job ladies!

I just saw the segment on It's A Wrap. When I took the class, our instructor Jayne Harrell had a great idea for finishing the fabric bowls. After you have done the tapering off, take a piece of cord and meaure it around the top of your bowl. Then cut it exactly to fit. Tape the ends together, then wrap the circle with the same fabric or a contrasting one. Zigzap the circle to the top. And you have a beautiful finish. Cool part is to match the taped circled edges to the little indent that the tapered part made. As a result, you have a truly flat finish. She loves this wrapped cord. You should see the placemats and little rugs that she has done using the same technique!
