I would probably thread paint with it then do quilting as part of the design... either that or put a different back on over the quilt .... that drives judges crazy.

You can freemotion quilt with double needles ,but it kind of leaves a funky zizzag stitch on the backside. Try a sample piece to see if you like the design on the backside.

I just made some pillow cases with fancy stitches... I used double thread with a large needle ( from Quilting Arts DVD) and liked the look. I also found my twin needles.... I am going to do some machine quilting... straight lines with that...

I do not think you can free motion stitch with double needles but I just might give it a try to see what happens... as long as I do not break them by going to fast.

Thank you ladies, I have gone to the show and watched again, I will be checking my new Brother 6000D,
I do not like the skimpy look the reg back stitch provides. I will let you know how it works out. I am truly excited to start this project for me. I do too much for others. 8) How many of you have used this stitch as well. What thread did you use. What threads work better than others. Debbie

Debbie, thanks for asking about it. I went back and looked at it and just used it to applique my seaweeds down in my mermaid quilt. It is a wonderful raw-edge applique stitch...looks fabulous. I didn't find the stitch at first, because it just looked like a little bolder normal blanket stitch on the screen. BethMI, sorry you don't have it.
