I have only just got round to watching Gloria's show. I bought her landscape book a couple of years ago. I must now go and get it out of the bookcase again and reread it. I love the way she works with her freezer paper on the right side of the fabric. In the past I have made several samples with freezer paper where you put it on the reverse side of the fabric and work mirror image. My poor brain gets terribly confused by that and I have steered clear of any project involving freezer paper since. I will now try and use Gloria's techniques and make something simple. I thoroughly enjoyed this show and the chance to hear how she constructs such amazing quilts.

Maria,
If she comes back, and if I go (usually depends on the weather), I'll certainly try to do that. I took Libby Lehman's class this year...it was super too. That's the problem with that show. You have to choose...but choose wisely.

BJ, If you go to MAQF next year, take Gloria's class. Hopefully she will be back for another year. It was so fun and exciting. I wish I would have taken all three instead of just one.

Wow! I finally had a chance to view the show today. To my total surprise, I realized I had the pleasure of seeing some of Gloria's quilts in person at this year's Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival. I even took photos of them. I learned a LOT, and now I can better connect the quilter to those extraordinary quilts I saw at the MAQF and so admired at the time. I loved her methods, and she was so clear, she actually taught so much in one short show. Thanks! Cheers, BJ

My DH just laughed when I told him about the house and told me "Don't even think about it." Well, too late I have been day dreaming about a whole house for quilting. then I think about the Checkbook and my bubble is POPPED!!! Oh well, it's nice to dream. Cheryl

She made doing a landscape quilt seem so easy. For the first time I thought "maybe I can actually do that!" :D

I really enjoyed the show, too! I've admired her quilts for a long time. I sure wish I could have a WHOLE house for my quilting, too!!!

I was watching with my mom with DS and DD in the room with us. All 4 of us ended up crowded around the computer to see the show. I love this site and the shows but every once in a while a show will just jump to the next level of incredible.

Excellent Show!!!! 09 Jun 2010 09:30 #46388

LOVED IT!!! What a great show!!! Gloria is an amazing woman! She came to the Mid Atlantic Quilt Fest this year in VA. I was trying to figure out what classes I was going to take and my DH suggested her class. I looked at her website and saw all her beautiful work and told my DH that I couldn't take the class because I thought it would be way too advanced for me. He pressured me to take the class and I was hesitant beause I didn't want to be the student that fell behind in class because I didn't know what I was doing. I did end up taking the class and it was by far the absolute BEST quilting class I have ever taken! After taking the class I couldn't believe what I had created. Thank you TQS for the wonderful show and thank you Gloria for making the trip!!!

Fabulous show and a delightful guest. Don't know whether I'll jump into the art quilt world, even though it's something I've always wanted to try. I have her newest book, and with the inspiration of this show, so, why not?!

Gloria makes it look easy! But her talent is enormous and the quilts are stunning! Creating a landscape quilt or two is on my bucket list, along with every other technique you guys offer us (The list gets longer and longer)! I just love the shows and the lessons!

Thank you so much TQS for this show! I had the pleasure of attending one of Gloria's landscape workshops in the UK a few years ago and just loved it. It was very liberating to do something new.

And my nose was less than an inch away from some of those amazing quilts.

Holy Cow What a SHOW!! I cannot believe the size and color. Gives me hope for my work.

Also now we are all going to ask our hubbys for the house next door when it goes on the market. What a great idea.
