Miles, everybody can voice their opinion here (as far as I know). It's important to do it in a respectful way.
It's often easier to have a heated discussion in person because you can see the reaction of the other people involved immediately and explain, if you have been misunderstood, for example. Here, any possible damage is done the moment you post a message. We all need to be aware of that.
And it's also important to remember that this is a global community. Different countries and cultures have different ideas of what is acceptable and what isn't.
It's not a pleasant experience to be on the receiving end when no harm was meant, and a comment gets misinterpreted (been there, done that, and carry the scars).
