Finally got around to watching this one, what fun all around!!
And a bit weird too, in that I hadn't watched it earlier b/c I had re-started a scrap quilt I've been doing on & off for who-knows-how-long, and it's a 1/2 sq. triangle block, where one triangle is stripped!! (the other solid) (ok, I wasn't tearing new strips, I'm using any long, skinny scraps, plus, I HAD included a few selvedges, I guess I was ahead of that now-popular idea-- why didn't
I write a book!!
)
I saw this in a book from the library years ago, & it's a quilt-as-you-go, the quilting IS the piecing. BUT I had run out of the fabric I had used for the solid side of the triangle, and couldn't come up w/ any more of the same, nor could I figure what to use for the sashing which will connect the blocks front & back. What to do?? Put it away!!
So during the weekend quilting bee I pulled them back out, held some up in front of my newly organized stash (thanks Margo!) and I could see it with fabrics
that I already had enough of! Don't want to run out again! And I came up with 2 great pieces, even pulling the front & backs together, I had used several Madras Plaids on the backs, and I found a plaid for the front sashings & a (solid-looking) floral for the backs.
So maybe I can get this finished this time around! We're expecting a rainy weekend thanks to Hanna...
