TOPIC: Ricky's KOOL KALEIDOSCOPE VIDEO

Well done, Nancy, a beautiful quilt.

I'm in the same position re: great-grands. I have a 24 y/o granddaughter, but she's still in college and not married. My other grands are too young, except for the oldest grandson, but he has Down's Syndrome, so we won't be having great-grandkids from him.

Thanks...I'm green with envy because I don't have any greats yet. Three granddaughters, 25, 27 and 30 and none married!!! The kaleidoscope was really fun once I got into it and thanks to all who wrote such nice compliments.

Good Job Nancy, as Ricky says "Just trust the system" It is magical how such an array of fabrics come together. The balance of the kaleidoscope pattern makes all fabrics sing. Betty Ann in Fl

My kaleidoscope top is finished and on my profile. I haven't decided how to quilt it...that will be a challenge. In the gallery it is #101159. Hope you like it.

Well, I decided to cut another freezer paper square, 16" instead of 18", and that solved my problem of not being able to get 6 across. I am now sewing together the wedges and they are going together quite well. My fabrics are colors and patterns all over the map, so it looks quite scrappy. So many of the ones in Ricky's gallery are so beautifully coordinated. NEXT TIME!!!

Well I've started mine. I have three strata done, two to go. I am a bit concerned that most of my fabrics are around 41-42 inches wide. I think the days of 45" fabric are over except for some...most likely Ricky's are. Anyway, I will muddle through somehow and change the angle of my templates if need be. I also am wondering how they were quilted...those beautiful ones that are on his DVD. That will be something to figure out when the time comes.

I'm assuming this is probably what he teaches in his Super Seminar which I've attended. It's a great lesson, but then ALL of his lessons are great!

You are right. He is a terrific teacher. And always willing to laugh at himself. I appreciate that almost as much as his teaching.

Watched the Kaleidescope lessons all the way through last night. Reallly looks challenging and I will start gathering fabric shortly. It will probably be my project for next summer. We hope to be going to Florida from February til the end of April and I am taking one of my machines and limited supplies with me. But am planning on doing something a little simpler while there. I love the music also. I'm plan on to purchasing one of his recorded music dvd's. Nan
