I would like to know how to get jpegs of new fabric lines to add to EQ. I know they add some from month to month, but wouldn't it be cool if we could pick and choose?

I've seen in the EQ newsletters that you can get virtual swatches from the fabric manufacturer's Web sites, but when I've followed the links it has always looked like you have to get them one fabric at a time. That was too tedious for me so I just collect the fabric libraries that EQ puts out each month. But if you have a specific fabric you want, or have more patience than I do, then you can get them from some manufacturer's Web sites.

I love the way the two blocks play together. Unexpected surprises!

Oh my gosh, Susan, I love that you combined the blocks from the first two exercises. I didn't even think of that. And your second quilt really shows what a difference value makes. You get extra credit, for sure!

OMG This is so addicting. Problem is...I was hemming a pair of pants, tried them on and & the amount of cat hair they attracted is embarrassing. I have to stop doing the hobby and clean for awhile or else the health department will be in here

Hi Susan, Wow! Using warm and cool colors makes for a balanced, vibrant design. Thanks for going beyond the block exercise and showing us an entire quilt. I'd love to see it also with a lighter blue in the plain squares, something a bit lighter than the background in the blocks. I think it would create a strong sense of depth and be interesting in comparison. Something to do in your copious free time, right? :D (Christmas, is it really Christmas?)

Susan, I could so easily curl up by the fireplace with a good book and a throw like the quilt you designed. Love the color combination! :P

Susan, I am loving that purple & red quit too. I love what the varied temperatures do for the design.

This one made me smile...trying for the mixed temperatures. I would never have believed I liked red.

I agree, Rita! The housework can wait, but an idea for a new quilt can't. It's my kind of "color therapy."

Oh, Yes. I have EQ6, I think it is, but haven't used it in quite a while. You need Parallels to run it. It's a little bit tricky. (What you don't use...) ;)

I defer the housework quite a lot myself Christine. 8) I used to be so house proud - now I quilt! Net result, I am happier. :D

Thanks so much, Susan! I sort of get by using Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign to play around with ideas, but a program for quilters would be better, I'm sure. When I was working on my book, I did a series of layouts in InDesign to show how I wanted the book to look, and C&Twas great to listen to my ideas. But I digress. . . . (I just don't want to get up and do the dishes.)

EQ can be run with a MAC, so can Bernina V6 software which has a quilting program. It's expensive if you are not interested in digitizing embroidery. I don't know about the tricks of running Windows programs on a MAC, but according to the Electric Quilt website, you can. V6 will run on MAC, too. If you are interested in the Bernina program, there is a whole Yahoo forum for V6 and MAC that tells all about how to set the software up.
