TOPIC: Fabric for 2010 Stars BOM

Fabric for the 2010 BOM 24 Jan 2010 13:33 #42808

In Australia a good off white is about (Australian dollars) $22 a meter so thats over $200 and to much to lay out in one go, I am buying a meter as I go along and just having diferent off whites.

Peg, that's what I did when I bought the background fabric for the 2009 Stars for a New Day. I did notice, though, that the weight and quality of my backing wasn't quite as good as that of the rest of my fabrics. I used it, though, because like you, I really couldn't spend all that money at that time.

Fabric for 2010 Stars BOM 23 Jan 2010 18:15 #42751

I'm wanting to make this yr's star BOM and was checking the fabric requirements. Seemed like so much backgroud. At today's prices it's almost $100. So i started looking at the wide back fabrics and the equivalent amount is 3.5 yd. Even at $18/yd, it's about 1/2 the cost. just wanted to pass that along. Happy Quilting! Peg
