Thank goodness I've got the 4 star blocks done, and 4 of the sawtooth so far, should be able to finish tha last 4 tonight, I did make some of the sawtooth stars ahead one month, so I may be done after tonight, but had better count them again, I would hate having to start up again after I thought I was through with them. I'm ready for next months upcoming adventure, I think :D Heidi

I finally got August cut, sewn and paper removed. I finished 1 star last night. I just can't get to the sewing room in the evenings any more so the weekends become marathon quilting sessions. I had my grandaughter up on Sunday. She wanted to sew with grandma so I had her stitch together 4 5" squares on the machine. We used insulbrite for batting and were able to put together a hotpad. She did the quilting (monster stitches), I put on the binding, and she helped with the hand sewing on the binding. She is 8 and this is her first sewing attempt. It looked wonderful (from a distance). I was so proud and pleased. Oops, sort of off topic. Gloria

I was able to sew for 15 minutes today and finished the last block for August. It's been laid out by my machine since I went to the hospital August 20th! Not too bad! Tonight I'll find my fabrics for September. I posted the pic at show and tell.

Yes, it's 72. When we get done with september blocks, there will still be 8 more sawtooth stars in one of the final months, for a total of 72. I went back and found the "schedule" of what we're doing each month. After September, then we put that on-point border together! I'm both excited and nervous about that!

I also need to take that advise Margo, I am so far behind in the BOM. Pretty much all the summer months. Don't know what happened to the time. But one is in College, and the other starts school tomorrow. So hopefully that will make it easier to get going.

Well, I have been busy cutting, pressing and now heading to the sewing machine. I'm behind July and August. Hey Pat! Mark off time on your calendar to sew your BOM blocks. If you wait to "find" time....it won't happen. If you want to get it done, you have to MAKE time to do it! Good luck!!

I'm so impressed at those of you that get these Borders stars done so quickly. Each month it takes me longer and longer.I'm very sick of HST.Mine should be done tomorrow but I'm finding I am definitely losing focus.Yesterday I got up to dust while I was sewing.I remember Margo telling us to buy glue sticks and glue for next years' BOM.If I promise to whine less ,Margo can you give us a clue as to what next years project will be?

Teri, all I can tell you is that there may be some applique in the 2010 BOM, and I am now using Elmer's washable glue (sticks and liquid) to prepare my applique pieces before I sew them on the background. This works for both hand and machine applique, but you need to wash the finished quilt to get the glue out!

Dusting??? Holey moley!!!

I was looking for a pencil tonight and low and behold sitting right there were the fabrics I'd choosen. What the quilt fairy didn't divulge was where the danged pencil was.

I actually like dusting and window cleaning. You need to be alarmed if I choose to wash floors instead of quilting! I too am loking forward to the day I put it all together...

When I jump from project to project, as I often do, I make sure to write myself a note about where I was & what I was thinking. I have notes with fabric bought in the past, and I've reminded myself what I was planning for the border & binding, even drawn myself a sketch sometimes. I'm always glad to find my memos to myself, they really help!
