Thanks for the heads up. I think I have plenty of my background but I was a little worried about the 18 colors. I wanted the outside to have mostly the same as the inside row and I'll do some substitutions on the inner rows. It is scrappy looking anyway so I guess it makes no difference. Karen

Thanks, Margo. I had noticed that and Sue was kind enough to send me the measurement of those strips so that I could pre-cut them. I won't be adding them onto the stars till we get to that step, but it's reassuring to know that my setting strips are cut from the desired fabric and ready to go. I doubt I'll be doing any more advance work, but knowing that I'm in the house MUCH less in spring and summer, it was nice to get those stars done ahead of time!

I did wonder about that but I bought mine from TQS so I should be all set. I may check my squares and cut the strips in advance.

Thank you,

Just a note to those of you who have done all of your saw tooth stars because you want to make sure that you have enough background fabric. If you will look at Sue’s finished quilt you will see that the saw tooth stars in the last border are off-set. We will be adding a 1-1/2” x 4-1/2” strip to one side of each block, so you will probably want to go ahead and set aside fabric for that if you want it all to be the same fabric. If you don't have enough, you can always add a completely different fabric for that strip!
