Thanks Sandy. I'm headed to Michael's Wednesday and I will check it out. I'm sure they will have something. Carolyn

Carolyn, you can get tips for the glue bottles at Joann's (I have heard they also sell them at Michaels). I found them in the paint section. It is a package of three and they are called "Enamels Tip-Pen Craft Tip Set" made by Plaid. I think they were $3.99.

Margo, Thanks for the great tips on mitered corners and the flying geese for the sawtooth stars. That's how I plan to do mine.

Thank you, Margo. I watched Sharon's video on her paper piecing method and saw the tip she sells. I thought maybe there was something "out there" I could purchase without ordering on line.
Once again, thanks for all your help on the blocks. Your work is beautiful and your instructions perfect. Carolyn

Thanks Carolyn! Sharon Schamber now sells a nice metal tip on her web site to get the fine line of glue. Before she started selling them she had a video on u-tube showing how to fit the tip of a BIC mechanical pencil (size .05) inside the nozzle of the Elmer's Washable School Glue bottle. (The original cap is taken off, trimmed and part of the inside regulator is cut away!) The orange tip you see is a protective tip for knitting needles!! It works great, and I've never had the tip to dry up, and never have to clean a clogged nozzle! I am finding more and more ways to use glue to make my quilting projects better and easier!

Very nice tutorial, Margo. Where did you get the tip for your Elmer's glue bottle? Carolyn in Kerrville, TX

If anyone is interested, I've added an album for the alternate block that Sue gives us and included directions for making the sawtooth star blocks with no center seam. I also show how I make perfect mitered corners on the floater strips, which I chose to do because of the printed fabric that I was working with.
