I posted my almost completed 2008 BOM on the Show & Tell. All the crystals are now attached (still missing the beads on one month, which will be added after quilting). I've got the scalloped border marked but instructions say not to cut until after the quilting is completed. Now I just need to be decisive and make up my mind how I'm going to quilt this beautiful project.

DONE!!!!!

I tried to replace the previous photo of quilt withOUT the borders with the new FINISHED photo, but for some reason, it won't let me. I deleted the old photo, then uploaded the NEW photo, and the old one is what comes up. ???????

So I have TWO finished photos! Sorry.

Feels so good I might have a glass of wine!

Well, it's 8:30 a.m. and I already have 1 side finished and reattached - RIGHT this time. The other is ready to go, but first I'm off to Weight Watchers!

Lovely Sandy. Just lovely. Doesn't it feel great to finish it? Now I'm working on my borders -- do want to finish before I begin 2009!

OK, I'm going to edit this to admit to my ribbit ribbit evening. I carefully peiced the 1/2 sq triangles for Sue's border - making sure to carefully look at the angles as she cautioned. After completing the right and left strips, I attached to the quilt! Great, one step closer!

Then I carefully looked at the picture, remembering her caution about right vs left leaning triangles --- and pieced my next strip - ready to attach to the quilt, and realized I had REDONE the left (or right) side!. Yep. Won't fit. So while watching CSI I removed the stitching of all the squares - carefully looking at the pictures - and then reattached them. Well, it is now probably 3 hours later, I'm ready to put them on the quilt. Great.

I have repeated the same mistake! Is there a message here? As in BRAIN DEAD!?! So I now will listen to Annie Smith's last podcast of the year while once again RIBBIT Ribbit the squares apart.

I have now scribbled over the right and left borders on the picture so I cannot look at them for the correct positioning!

If I thought it would do any good, I'd be mad. Instead I must learn to laugh at myself. Hey! Endorphins are good!   :D

Sandy, your blocks are beautiful, and I love the detail of all the outline embroidery! It really adds a lot to the design!

Congratulations to all of you on completing your beautiful quilt tops. I love them all. Margo your border is amazing. I had to stop after 6 blocks due to many family health issues and did not have the energy to do another circle.
Thank you Sue for the applique experience, I did learn a lot. I can't wait for midnight to download the 2009 BOM. I am looking forward to doing paper and piece work (my comfort zone) and your quilt is beyond Beautiful.
Wishing everyone a Wonderful, Healthy, Happy New Year
Nina.

whoo hoo I am finished! 31 Dec 2008 08:48 #30257

Today is the 31st and I am assembling my BOM. I didn't think this project would be finished this year...I learned so many new things..
I am a better piecer than appliqurer
I am a better machine appliqurer than needle turned
I love Thangles...I am pretty good at half-square triangles, but these little babies are the best.
This has been a wonderful project and I will post a photo soon. Sue...many thanks for the inspiration and the journey. Thanks Margo for your presence and encouragement. A great year and Happy New Year to All. Dot
