Hi Lynn, I think also that the backing will look perfect, and as you said it ties in with the rest of your colorful blocks, myself, I hadn't honestly even thought about it yet, figured there is plenty of time to deal with it. Heidi

Lynn,

That backing is perfect.

I have not thought about the backing as yet but have given some thought to the borders.

I am leaning toward vines and leaves appliqued on the border instead of the triangles. I have done this on one of my applique quilts and really love it. I keep telling myself I am a glutton for punishment!

Glad you all think so too. Especially since my sashing is a bright orange/red/tone on tone!

Lynn - That fabric is perfect for your quilt and using a little in the front ties everything together.

Lynn, your backing is bright and cheery and will go well with your blocks. I'm wondering if it would be too boring if I chose the same fabric as my background for my backing. Hopefully, I'll have a light bulb moment when I see that perfect fabric.

I found my backing on the closeout rack at my LQS. It is a 'bright' print that just seems to go with my 'bright' colors on my blocks! I snapped a pic and put it in my profile.

This thread defnitely went in an odd direction. I hadn't even begun to think of the backing; thanks for bringing it up. I'll have to start checking out the brick and mortar and online shops. Hopefully, I find something easier than I've found the center for the September vase.

Well I've been thinking about this for a couple of hours. I emailed one person who seemed offended and apologized. I thought I better apologize to the Forum. I try so hard to present myself as a friendly, trustworthy person that my skin is just crawling that I came across as a creep. I would never, ever steal anyone's work or identity or knowingly put anyone in jeopardy in any way. I can't however disclaim stupidity or naivete. I am so sorry to make anyone feel threatened. I am glad this came up because clearly I was forgetting that this is a public forum and not secure.

Hokey Snookies! It was a halfbaked spur of the moment idea but so glad I posted it because I might not have thought about this. Sure I will email everyone if I decide to do it to get permission.

well I'm certainly sorry this thread took this turn...
Patti, I don't mind if you used my pic-- and someone else suggested screen names... either one alone doesn't really mean much, does it? I mean, I didn't exactly disguise my name on here, and it wouldn't take much digging for someone to track me down from all the info, but from my picture?? on a quilt??
I know there are issues w/ identity theft and some folks have very legitimate reasons to want to stay anonymous, but I personally am not going to worry over it.

Linda, if you object to having your photo shown here, please drop a note to Bridget and ask her to remove it. I don't have access to that program. Thanks.

I didn't have a problem with my picture being posted here until there came the possibility that members are going to take a copy of it and use it. Copying & sharing quilt photos is one thing, but you cross a very personal line when you talk about taking members personal photos for your personal use and is why mine has been removed and will never come back.

Linda, who really isn't usually this controversal, but seems this BOM thing has triggered some sensitive buttons so I will continue my work, but do it in silence. Sew Long and Sew Happy

I agree. That is an excellent plan, Sandy. For people who don't mind I think the pictures are a cute and personal addition to the story of the making of the quilt. I will hope to be there and get signatures like Sandy suggested.
