I almost forgot... 18 Aug 2008 23:14 #24436

Wow - I almost forgot! I expect you all to pester our mentor and quilt guru Margo and not let her escape into oblivion next year.... she has been SO helpful to everyone (including me) this year, and I am hopeful that she will continue to be an essential part of the "glue" that keeps this wonderful community of quiltmakers in touch -- and in tune with every tip and technique we will need to know for next year! Margo and I email each other day and night and by now, I feel like she's my sister! Yay Margo!!

Woo Hoo! The next BOM!!! 18 Aug 2008 23:08 #24435

Hi everyone --
Now that the wait is over, stay tuned... I have been recruited to do a "chat room" event on August 28 at 7 pm central time. If you have any questions, jot them down so you don't forget them. I look forward to "talking" with everyone. It seems so early to be already talking about next year's BOM, but there are only four more blocks in the Bouquet quilt -- can you believe it?!! Where does the time go? Most of all, though... I'm really thrilled that we get to stay together next year. Since Ricky and Alex (and Lilo, of course!) invited me to do next year's BOM, I hope that you'll be rested and ready to tackle another quilt by January.

The next quilt, at TQS's request, will be totally pieced - not one iota of applique, not one stitch by hand, and not one single little tiny circle! (I know you'll be begging for them by March or April.... ha!). When TQS debuts the quilt (we'll have to ask Lilo when that might happen), you'll have to decide if you want to participate - and then you'll have to decide on fabric choices. I have enjoyed seeing everyone's creativity rise to the forefront in selecting fabrics for the bouquets... and now I want to see it in the new quilt. My guess is that we will all be equally amazed at how talented the BOMettes are! No... on second thought, I would only be amazed if you DIDN'T continue to display the same creativity that you have already shown all year long! Y'all are the greatest!!

With joy,
Sue Garman

Thanks for that heads up, Judy! WOW! I am definitely going to plan on doing next year's BOM. Piecing is really my thing, and I am sure Sue is going to challenge us!

Wow! Maggie, I just watched the episode with our "leader" for the BOM and loved seeing her methods. Almost makes me sad I'm doing this by machine! but the skills will be there when I'm ready to return to them!

Her work is just beautiful and the swimming pool noodle! What an idea!

WOW! I just finished watching episode 304 (shhhhh! don't tell the boss  )!

Sue, I am SOOOOOOO impressed with your work! The rodeo quilt is AWESOME!

Okay, Sue showed her secret to making those circles. How simple. I think even though I am doing machine applique this would be much easier than my current method.
