Great block! I too love the June block. Simple, straight lines. My kind of art!

I finally have mine on the quilting frame and am quilting it! Woo Hoo!

Thanks Maggie! That was such a fluke. I never noticed the star shape till I was about to cut the vase pc. so I just moved it over to center the star more. Well, on to July.

Karen, the June block is still my favorite block! Love your colors, and love the TQS star you made on the vase!

Traced onto freezer paper, and now to pick the fabric which will be the hardest thing to do. Hope I will have something ready to show at guild. Judy in really hot AZ

Good for you Judy! Glad you're getting started. I know you're going to enjoy it. Bring your blocks for Show & Tell in Oct.
Maybe it'll cool off by then - it's only 108 here!

Well, I did it. I finally decided to take the big step and start my BOM. I went to the LQS to get some background fabric and came away with an off white with tiny speckles, like paint spatters. Do you know what I mean? I had wanted beige dimples, but they didn't have it. Then I came home and traced the Jan. BOM for placement. I am using a method like Sue Nickles does instead of vinyl. She uses a roll of architect sketch paper which you can see through. I still need to pick out Jan. fabric but this is a start. I figure that since I am needleturning the whole thing, I had better get started as it will take me a long, long time. I don't have a digital camera with me to take pictures. My DH has our only camera with him back east. But by the time I am ready for a photo, he will be here. Judy in AZ

I have posted my second June block, as promised! I used raw edge applique except for the bias stems. Gold thread was used around everything except the stems to give it some contrast and glitz. There is gold in each of the fabrics used in this line.

Randi

Love your blocks, is this not fun, Seeing all the different ways people select their fabrics? I love to see them all.

Thank you so much to all of you checking out the June block in my profile. Any comments are always welcome and everyone is so kind! I love looking at everyone's cool blocks with their wonderful fabric choices! I am always in search of the "right" fabric to really show off the vase/basket and I also try to make sure enough contrast is there so seeing the flower & berry features aren't too difficult. You guys really "ROCK"!!
