My February 2008 block is finally posted. I made the freezer paper templates in Feb. 2009 and finally decided to take a day to do this block. I'm determined not to let this become another UFO. I already have an idea of how I want to do the sashing and cornerstones.

What a nice summer memory, Lynn. I'm so pleased you guys are seeing poppies because that was what I was trying for. Karen

Cher4, love the butterflies, too!

And I love the red on black, Karen! Very striking!

Looks like the Memorial Day of my memories - selling poppies on the streets of my home town in South Dakota. I was in the Junior American Legion Auxillary as my father had served in WW2. It was always a big, big day in my family!

Cher4, love the addition of the butterlies to your blocks. It's such a nice way to make your quilt "personal".

Karen, your block is spectacular. The dark background makes the design really stand out. Marge

Cher4, what wonderful blocks! Are those butterflies fussycut then appliqued? I love butterflies, as they remind me of the metamorphosis we all make in our lives.
