My first Bernina was the 1130, great machine. If you can get to a dealer, take your machine and ask if you can try the 72 foot on your machine right in the store. It is a great foot and might work. If/when you buy another Bernina you would have the foot already. I have a blog post about Ruler Work--the Basics if you are interested. It is SO MUCH FUN

I have an old style Bernina 1130 which I really like, but would like to start learning ruler work. What do you do about coming up with a ruler foot for old style? Do you use the adapter and just buy a generic ruler foot? If so, is it high, medium, or low shank?
