To me, it's always interesting to see someone use embroidery machines on quilts. I love it, but I HATE to multi-hoop if the hoop has to be rotated. Check out the last technique in this little video. Now, why wasn't I smart enough to think of that! Even Ricky's Arabesque Dies could be used with this technique. Sweet!

I think I no longer have Bernina 830 envy!

Thanks for posting the link, this opens up all sorts of possibilties and reduces some of the limitations for those of us with smaller hooping capabilties....like you say, why didn't I think of that!!......

Thanks Sarah, do you mind if I copy paste your answer on the other forum?

Hi Susan,

All of my CDs have instructions on how to do multiple hoopings. You will generally need a hoop that is at least 5"x7", a Bernina large oval is even better (that is 5.5"x8" or so, depending on the shape of the design!). You definitely do NOT need a Bernina Jumbo hoop!

The quilt on the AccuQuilt web site (Heart of my Heart) is a pattern for basic machine applique. You could use the hearts from my GO! Be Dazzled collection, but it would require figuring out the center for each heart on the quilt.

Hope this helps!
Sarah :-)

Sarah, a general question about your embroidery/quilt designs packages. Do they generally require multi-hooping (for those of us that don't have gigantic 830 hoops)? If so, are directions included with the design package? If this information is elsewhere, could you point us to it? This question of alignment using Accuquilt shapes came up on the yahoo accuquilt forum about the hearts quilt that is being promoted on the accuquilt site this week. Thanks for any information!

The "embroidered applique" (i.e. embellished applique in the hoop) will be available by June 1! A little behind schedule on that one, but it's coming along slowly but surely :-)
Can't wait to see what you come up with. Enjoying this so far!

If the store is renting time and selling the Go dies, I'll bet they have an adapter there.

However, there will be an optional (to be purchased) embroidered applique version available which will have more stuff going on - and potentially some different edge finishes.

Kind regards,
Sarah :-)

When will this optional version be available? (I have to admit, the quilt look quite tame compared to your other work. :D )

My local quilt shop has the big Accu-cut machine that they will rent time on. Will the Go dies work on the large Accu-cut machine? Just wondering.

That's a great idea! I wonder if any of the shops around me offer it. I wonder if anyone (who already has the dies) would be interested in cutting my fabric if I paid them and paid for my shipping of course ....
