This is what I was about to suggest trying as well, the lime green with the lavander would really pop - if you want it popped

Actually, I'm trying everything right now, because I don't have enough of my magenta to do BOTH the secondery petals for the flowers, AND the piping! I actually SEWED one real piping onto a bottom swag yesterday, and found the piece distorted and no longer was the same shape as the top piece. So, I'm going to have my work cut out for me figuring out how I can do can do piping, and do it well. I have made so many test swags, but this is the only way to find out what really looks best. There's something to be said about buying a kit!

Janice, I just love your quilt! You've taken the Beloved Beauties fabrics and given them your own special look...awesome!

I finally finished Month Three.....it was a lot of work, but I am very pleased with what I did. Month four I am going to do something different from the diamond four patch. I am not sure what, but I will come up with something. Happy Stitching!

Actually, the purple and green was presented to me in a private email, and it sounded like fun, so I did put it up on my design wall. So far, it has not spoken to me. It just sort of sits there, not knowing if might belong to the multi colored trellis, or afraid it might blend into the next multi colored border. But, I did try it! You never know until you try!

Dawn,

I seem to be in the minority, but I prefer the green. It just pops off the background. Hmmmm...what would it look like if you used a purple & a green in the individual swag rather than two purples or two greens?

BTW...I'm still envious that you've gotten this far this fast! I haven't even touched mine, but, of course, right after my fabrics arrived, the SoTTTs happened and I've been in HST mode ever since. I sure will have a lot of catching up to do once the exchange is over.

Dawn, I too would vote for the lavender. I think it makes your top look more dimensional than the green swag does. Having said that, either one would still be lovely! :)

I have a preference but I won't share it. Instead I will ask a few questions:
What is the final look you are trying to achieve? Bold? A little more subtle?
What is color preference of final owner, if known?
Which would you prefer? Can't decide. Let it perk a few more days.
Do you want the swag to blend with the quilt or jump out at you?

As has been discussed, time and time again, there are no quilt police. Also, I believe quilting should be about your choices. The more variations and choices I see in a project like this, the happier my inner self is that the craft of quilting will stay very alive and not just become an era like paper tole, macrame and how many others. There was very little originality and letting the individual personality of the maker possible in those crafts. I've been there, done most as they came along, but only my cross stitch and quilting are enduring as life time crafts.

I would also choose the purple. I think it stands out more.

Dawn, I love the lavender, and I am usually a green person. The lavender looks so rich. Have fun!
