I'm still waiting on my fabric and am trying to decide which method of applique to use. The thoughts of doing something by hand are appealing since I mostly use the machine but I want to try Margo's method as well (I do have another applique project in progress). I'm reading through the posts trying to decide. Can't wait to get my order but with the 7 inches of snow we got here in the South yesterday, it may be a couple more days.

JoJo,

All I can say is WOW. My mouth dropped open when I saw your block. It is gorgeous. I'm enjoying this months project so very much. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your quilt as you go along.

You are so right Pam, I have learned so much doing the other two BOM's and you feel you have help at hand if things are not going just right ie- the lovely Margo also other quilters have given me such good advice. The instructions and the tutorials are just great. This one is going to have to be made from my stash fabric cupboards bursting at the seams. :0) Dorothy Suffolk England

Thanks,

Eileen, Sue used freezer paper. There is a picture of her template and instructions in her PDF for January.

The info about the leaves is in my PDF about Machine Appliqué. It's in the classrooms link:

Eileen,

I traced the vine onto my green fabric and then I cut away the excess fabric as I needle turned it. I need to have a lighter hand when tracing. I used a black pencil and I have marks that I willhave to remove. I found the tip on the leaves in Margo's Machine Applique Lesson. It's in the lesson section. She has 3 there now. I have to go back and read the one on retro fitting your glue bottle.

Annis, your center medallion is wonderful! I also, really love the hearts! It looks like a very happy quilt!

Joann, I admire the fact that you are DONE with the center! And, it looks great!

And Sue, you've got a great start! I didn't even attempt Sue G's center with all those tiny vines being one piece. Great job!

I am still plugging along with my Erin Russek center, changing it here and there, in order to get it on point. I spent two days already trying to design a new flower for it, and feel I am FINALLY homing in on the perfect one. We'll see. Then I need to make some vines. Then hand applique it all on. So, I will be awhile, yet. But, I'm still having fun!
