Sounds like a great visit Peg! And lots coming up - I'd love to hear Bonnie Hunter speak!

I started off the day well - dd1 always calls me in the morning on her way home from taking her dh to work. While I'm not at all a fan of being on a cell while driving, it helps her to stay awake, which is important too - it's usually about 5:15 her time when she calls. While we were talking, I finished sewing the blocks for ds/ddil2b's wedding quilt and pressed some of them. Yay.

Tonite dh and I will go downtown for the fish fry and I hope to press the rest of those blocks. Then tomorrow I can lay them out, number them and start sewing the rows together! Yay. I suppose I'll have to get some laundry done in there and at least clean the bathroom.

dd2 posted on FB that in one month she'll be home for summer break. Boy has this college year gone fast.

I had a visit from my BFF on Wednesday (she lives onLI) and we haven't "seen" each other in a year. (For my QYW friends, she's the one who lost her finger to that terrible strep infection. We were celebrating one year of her survival -- your prayers were such a big help!!!! And she's doing GREAT! ) Of course we visit a few times a week by phone, but isn't a face to face with your girlfriend great??? We laughed, had lunch, went shopping at her favorite store up here -- The Christmas Tree Shop -- a great store full of cheap stuff that we all love -- spring decorations, toys, housewares, food and spices, etc. We also hit the Cracker Barrel -- that store is not on Long Island and we had found it several years ago when our kids were in the same college in PA. It was just a great day! Of course she oohed and aaahed over my quilts -- as good friends do.
One of my favorite professional quilters, Bonnie Hunter, is up here in CT for the week and my guild will be hosting her next week. I'm so looking forward to her class and trunk show. If there are some of you out there who are scrap quilters, please check out her website, http://www.quiltville.com She has an incredible stash system and an enormous amount of free quilt patterns there. I'm also trying to do the star block for Moda for the troops, and I have two blocks to do for an exchange I'm in. Plus an engagement party tomorrow for my nephew, and a fashion show on Sunday for a local organization. Things come in bunches, don't they???
Hope you all have a fabulous day and weekend!
Peggy
