A quilting friend and I attended the Glendale Quilt Show today at the Burbank Convention Center. The show theme was 'Quilts of the Wild West'. The Autry western museum sponsored the opportunity tickets and lent several western pieces for the lobby display. We loved the western theme and of course the vendors!

Went to the Yuba City Quilt show with part of my mini group, we had a great time. Some really nice quilts there. (forgot to take the camera, again).
But the whole week was quilt related. Monday was my Guild meeting, got recognized with a small quilt and a 25 year volunteer pin. (for my 27 years as a member). Thursday was my small guild workday, worked on quilting a community service quilt. Friday was mini group day, did binding of the community service quilt. I need to take a picture of it yet.

So I had a great International Quilting Week.

I finished the wallhanging I've been working on - well, still need to hand stitch down the bottom of the hanging sleeve. Then I was going to start quilting another UFO that I got layered, but what I had planned just didn't feel right, so it's hanging down off the top bunk so I can look at it and wait for it to tell me how to quilt it. Now, I'm piecing for one of the wedding quilts. Yay for quilting day!!!

I am celebrating with trying to finish my Geisha quilt this weekend. I've finished all the quilting, so I need to block it and bind it and add the decorative item in her hair (a three-demensional embroidery with beads). Plus the label and sleeve of course. Woo hoo! Happy quilt day!

I will be working on a quilt I hope to enter into the Houston show this year....Quilt top is done with borders on and then it needs a bit of painting in the borders and then on to sandwiching it, stabilize it and begin actual quilting...I may get to that by this evening sometime, but tomorrow for sure I will be quilting on it.

I have been sewing almost daily for a bit. Today I need to do a simple alteration before I can piece. I'm back at my stash busting project that started with the Millenium. It's been ongoing ever since, with more concentrated efforts in the past year or so.

I've been lucky enough to sew every day for the last few weeks. Today I am working in the yard. Maybe it will help reduce my "FAT QUARTERS"???

...and how are you spending yours? :D

I am working on a cheery orange and white quilt to evoke (hopefully) a bit more sunshine and warmth this weekend!
