TOPIC: It's a Sunny Friday

Re: It's a Sunny Friday 11 Mar 2011 19:15 #60030

Evening all,

Well Ladies Day Away here I come!!! I can't wait for tomorrow so I can sew to my little heart's content!!! I have to get my projects all lined up and packed in the car. This is the first time I don't know what I'm gonna do! I should be in my sewing room packing my stuff but I am too exhausted to do anything! I started cleaning the house at 5:30 this morning since we're having family in this weekend... I haven't stopped moving since. So I might just get up early and pack things up when I have a clear mind. Hope everyone has a lovely evening!

Take care,

Margaret

DD and I went out for fish dinner tonight because it's Lent. We brought DH a takeout order. She loves this place we go for fish so I hoped would help her spirits. She was in tears because her mock trial team cannot go to the competition tomorrow. School got cancelled today because of the snow and so did the boy's District Finals basketball game. Our school is hosting it and we happen to be playing IN the finals. Anyway the game is re-scheduled for tomorrow at 1:00. Mock trial was supposed to be in Pontiac, Mich., and two boys on the mock trial team are also on the basketball team. Pontiac is at least a 2 - 3 hour drive from here and they will never be done and back on time for the game. I feel really bad for her. They worked so hard for at least two month! And now to not be able to go....

I am tired today because I didn't sleep good last night with the wind and worrying about having to drive to work in the snow. I also got up earlier so i could drive slow and get there on time. I drove 35 mph the whole way pretty much. I think I will hit the hay early and since the mock trial thing is cancelled, I have all day tomorrow (hopefully) to sew something.

If it isn't a week mix-up in my mind it is a day mix-up. I think I am again straight for today. I can tell I am relaxing and falling back into a lazier routine. Today's goal is to get back to the machine for some fm quilting. Right now I am waiting on banana bread to come out of the oven so I can have a nap and it is still morning. Who knows what will happen.

Stacey--Congratulations. Any accomplishment with a child is a big deal. There are no norms. My big deal with my youngest was when he slept through the night at almost 5 years of age and since seventeen months he hadn't even wet a diaper at night. It took me that long to realize he needed very little sleep. I had to find a bedtime routine that worked for both of us.

Stacey, I had that problem with one of my ds'-- hopefully this will work for him and for you.
Have you watched the videos from Japan? Unbelievable!! Sending prayers to that corner of the world. My little problems pale in comparison to what those people must be suffering.
I just have to quilt a border or two and put on the binding of my comfort quilt -- then pull out my rrcb project and get going on finishing the blocks. I have quite a few to get done before I can even lay out this incredible scrap quilt. Looks like it'll be an April or May finish (I hope!!)
Have a good day and better weekend. Spring forward!!!

Hey everyone. Things are getting better. Though I have two sick little ones now. Though we will rest and it will hopefully just be a quick bug. As for me I am trying to organize the closet of my quilting room so that I can have a better set up for my scrapbooking items. That is the goal anyway. We will see. As for the rest of the week we had a good parent teacher coference last night for one DS. He also got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. NOt a huge thing for everyone else, but for us it is huge. He has never really done this before. We have been using the alarm that you attach to their clothes to know when they go. It has been a long tired week, but I am starting to see progress which is so nice. I am finishing laundary, vacuuming, and then down to work on that room. I also need to read to the other DS's class today.

Have a great day everyone.
Hugs,
Stacey
