Had some time this morning to take another look at the February finishes - all I can say is WOW! What very neat pieces! I've been in quilting funk lately - I'd better get with it!

Wow - stunning quilts and a ribbon too! Congratulations - I'd hang the ribbon too.

I don't have any February finishes but hope to have a few for March.

I keep hitting draft and don't have a clue where the drafts go! So, I usually have to retype my responses.

Hope you all are having a sewing kind of day.

Hugs,
TJ

Congrats, Peggy! Love your design idea....never thought I'd like red and orange together, but it's super! Most definitely, a front hall quilt WITH the ribbon. :D

Re: Feb Finishes 01 Mar 2011 08:07 #59271

I'm posting on my final February finish -- and I'm excited and want to share my news. My quilt guild had a challenge that involved picking 3 paint chip colors randomly and then designing a small quilt or wh with only those colors (with fabric that read as a solid) and a background color of black or white. And a flower motif had to be a part of the design as well. My colors were a pumpkin orange, and orangey red and lilac. I'm amazed to say I won a 3rd place ribbon. I was astonished as there were over 50 quilts involved. The first place gal's design was so intricate and time consuming it was amazing. She pretty much made her own bargello fabric with tiny strips of her colors and she made another fabric with tiny appliqued circles of her fabric. She used the card trick block -- it really was stunning. I wish I had brought my camera. Anyway -- I told my dh that I'm hanging mine in the front hall -- with the ribbon!! ;)

Georgia--Great finish. Keep on quilting so we see more of your fabulous works. That goes for all of you out there.

Thanks for the concern, Georgia. Vern is improving. Hopefully he will get home this week. Now it is hard to say whether that will give me more quilting time, or less.
