Well, I'll try this one more time....my laptop doesn't seem to want me to finish a post tonite. Marg, hope the week gets better for you. I've been getting a little bitty bit of sewing done. Not much tho.

dd2 called last night brokenhearted - her boyfriend dumped her. She didn't see it coming at all, altho he told her she should have - jerk! I wish I could have gone up to St. Cloud today, but there are things at work that have to be done and no one else to do them. I'll head up there Friday and stay over. We'll try to get an appt at David's Bridal to get fitted for her 2 bridesmaid dresses. That'll be fun and we'll just hang out - do what ever she wants. Her friends up there are being very supportive of her as are some of her co-workers at the college newspaper, where the ex-boyfriend also works. It's not going to be easy, especially since they work together, but she's a very strong young woman and the fact that she's getting the support she needs is already helping her. I hate when one of my kids has a hurt I can't fix!!

The vet came again yesterday to assess how Bella's doing and she's not progressed nearly as well as the vet had hoped. She showed us how to do some stretching exercises with her to try to loosen up some of her muscles and strenghten all of them. Sure hope it helps. Maybe this could be a new career path for me- doggie physical therapist - except I'd probably have to learn dog anatomy! :?

Better go see if the jeans are dry...

Hugs,

We have had a productive, busy day but a fun one. We started out with dance. Adorable is all I can say and they routine is so cute. Then it was off to the children's museum with my two youngest for a Dear Friend's little girls 1st birthday. We spent two hours there and had a blast. Then it was home to pick up my oldest from a half day. Then off to the grocery store to get groceries. NOw it is to making dinner, working on homework and then off to my husband's second to last league basketball game. Didn't get much done otherwise, but had an amazing time with friends and with my kiddos. That is what really matters.

marg I totally feel for you me dear as you know I have had those moments. Take a deep breath and as I said last night just slow down. You will get there I promise. if you need me I am just a phone call away.
Hugs,
Stacey

Margaret--Don't remember who told me many, many years ago, quickly likely my mother while I was in my teens that what's important is not what you have but what you do with what you have. Because of catching myself before a similar disaster I have learned that putting away happens as I go so there is no way I can cut something accidentally. Also in my life I am never done arranging because I might have the perfect solution, or so I think, until something changes, sometimes only so slightly. Vern has given up rolling eyes when I start rearranging. His eyes would stay in rolly mode.

Thanks guys. I just got back from bom (lasted close to 2 1/2 hours this week.) I got extra fabric to fix my mistakes on the PP and I'm gonna start next month's right away. The leader for this month said it took her 4 tries to get it right so I'm not diddle-dallying this month! I gave in and purchasd a square up ruller they recomended to make this block easier. I don't like buying every ruller and try to make the one I have work (which I usually have sucess with.) But figured I would make it easier on my mind. The last time my brain "quit working" is just before I couldn't handle my mom and had to send her out to her sisters for a while. Now that I'm not working I have the luxury of slowing down and taking some things off my plate. So I'm gonna handle a couple of things this afternoon so they aren't bugging me anymore.

The silly thing is Agnes is I have a huge design wall that I just got up and a large cutting area. The hubby rearranged furniture what he was doing electrical b/c he thought it would fit me better but I dunno... I might have to rearrange again...

thanks again for the kind words... the make me feel better.

Oh we have all had those days -- or weeks, Margaret! the cutting the fabric thing is a heartbreak!! But, I've done it as well. Paper piecing takes more fabric for me, unfortunately. I just did a small flower in pp for my challenge quilt -- luckily it came out okay -- you never know with my technique. I bought Carol Doak's piecing paper though and that seems to help me because you can fold it easily and figure out how much you need to estimate better. I think. ;)
For some reason -- cabin fever?? -- I have been bedazzled lately by bejeweled 2 on the computer -- talk about a time waster!! I've got to get my rear end in gear!! Hope you all have a good day.

Margaret - I'm working at the high school office this morning (subbing) and I just read your post to Marilyn G. She and I had a good laugh. Hope the rest of the day goes better for you. Mary

Margaret take a deep breath, admit you are not super woman and start fresh. To me it sounds like it is time to regroup. That kitty will have a hatred for irons forever so you need to decide on a new strategy like the area is off limits for kitty. Hopefully you learned from cutting the border fabric that you MUST clear away as you work. Makes for far fewer "mistakes." Between my bins and my little "design" boards I have avoided a lot of situations that used to result in mistakes. It may seem to take a little longer at the time but saves a lot of time in having to run back to the store to discover the fabric is no longer available. Think positive, most of all. Had you not been around and kitty was loose with the hot iron she could have set the house on fire. Now it is a mess, a new iron and some replacement fabric.

I had my doctor's appointment yesterday which ultimately ended my sewing day because I was away for what would have been my sewing time. I'm celebrating instead of bemoaning the fact. My blood readings to do with iron, hemoglobin and so on are all normal or better. That's a first in many moons. I attribute it to adding liver to my diet.
Love liver but am generally a poor meat eater. I had steered away from iron because of the fat. No more. It gives me more enjoyment that iron pills ever will. So today and tomorrow should give me some sewing time though I have to fit in a trip to the library and bank, opposite directions, and I'm walking.

Morning,

I thought that after yesterday's frustrations the evening would go better... nope. My mom's cat decided it wanted to sniff the iron. That's not a good idea when it's ON! Yea the cat burned it's noise. ( I'm calling him stupid now.) So he knocked the iron off for revenge. Luckily the iron still worked... Oh wait, it gets better. When I was working at 10:30 last night it decided to come down. Saw the iron (still on) and decided again it didn't belong on the ironing board. Smash.... iron in pieces on the ground. So off to bed I went.

So have this blasted paper piecing almost done this morning and I figured out the shop didn't give me enough fabric for what I need! I have one piece to complete and it's the missing fabric! Ahhhhh! This shop has done this twice to me before so I know it's not me. So I figured I would start working on a wall hanging and as I was cutting I realized I had the border fabric under the pannel I was squaring up.... yea cut the border fabric. Can I make anymore rookie mistakes???? SERIOUSLY! Why is nothing working for me this week! Will someone please put me out of my misery allready?

So I'm off to the lqs for this bom. Hopefully I figure out what the heck I did wrong!
