Thanks. I'm a little concerned about the waste...have accidently managed to get a pattern or two started before I realized how much waste there was (I save strings and cut anything down to 1.5"). I think I understand that the leftover bits can be cut to 1.75" if you're using the smaller twister template -- so that helps me with that some.

For me -- I don't love the fabric for the quilt challenge and will supplement with my stash so I'm not heavily invested emotionally in the fabric -- if that makes any sense at all. Seems like a little waste to try a new technique that has pretty snazzy results is worth the trade-off. We'll see if i actually carry through with it. I've found it for about $8.00 so that's a little more manageable and I always justify my time is worth something. That helps sometimes!

Thanks for the comments. Others are welcome and deeply appreciated. Jan

One of the gals in our small group used the 5 inch twister. She was amazed at how easy it was to use the tool and we (the other dozen in our group) were all wowed with her results. I actually bought the 5 inch twister template. I looked at the directions and there seems to be a lot of waste--1/4 to 1/3. . .but I thought that I would give it a try just because of the results! I have a couple projects to finish first though!!

These templates are great to use and huge improvement to making your own of cardstock or plastic !
Our guild recently held an Ugly" fabrics challenge and several quilts were made using "twisters". Six
or more diverse fabrics had to be made to play nicely together. The results were inspiring !!

Good morning, quilters.

I'm reverting back to the group I'm familiar with since you all know everything! I have searched the forum for this and decided I may not be doing it exactly right....nevertheless

Have any of you seen/used the "Lil Twister" template for tessalating quilts. I happened to see it in a random blog and all of a sudden realized how it worked! Couldn't figure it out without a demo -- love blogs. Anyway, I know there is one for 5" charms and 10" squares and I'm curious if it's as slick as it looks? If so, would be perfect for one of two challenges that I have coming up and I'm lost on what to do as the fabrics were furnished...

Thanks Jan at mailto:iquiltforfun@blogspot.com
