TOPIC: Very exciting Sunday makes for a tired Monday!

Re: Very exciting Sunday makes for a tired Monday! 24 Jan 2011 17:44 #54738

Hi Everyone,
I had to get and go to work this morning after watching the game. Yea, our Steelers won!! Sorry Jets fans. It's nice to have something to cheer about, because our baseball team never wins. The sports guys star with football as early as possible to have some positive stories to report on. My inlaws were from WI and Packer fans. My dh figures he wins no matter what happens in the Super Bowl. We watched the game with family many of whom stood or aced throught the second half. I hope the Super Bowl is an exciting game.

Have a good evening.

You know I just had a brainstorm Margaret, and that is maybe if she(the owner) wants you to start the group maybe you could get a discount on thread then used for the group. Just a thought because you would be using your thread to do projects for the group that she wants. Does that make sense?

Pegsterct I was hoping that the Jets would win because the STeelers have been there before ( no offense Steelers fans you team just so good). Plus I just would have much rather played the Jets because the Steelers scare me. I'm sorry and hopefully next year.

Congrats to you Packers and Steelers fans! Our poor Jets have to wait another year (oh we've heard that before!!!!) - My family has had season tickets since since 1984 -- a long, long time. My sons have them now. But it was a good game, at least the Jets came back and made it exciting--I'm sure it'll be a good Super Bowl for you all to cheer for. And I got a lot of good sewing time in this weekend. I finished my 600 hs triangles for my mystery quilt and now I'm sewing them into sets of 5 - 4 for each block of 30 blocks. I've got 8 blocks done, 22 more to go - woohoo!! Then the scrappy border to do and then put it all together!! But my family might be coming in this weekend so I have to tidy up my sewing room. That's the problem with scrap quilts -- I've got everything turned upside down. But that's my sewing style as well -- pure mayhem all around me. Hope you all have a great day!

Morning all,

I have to say this game will be a hard one to root for. I'm a Packer fan but also a Steeler fan... So I guess whoever wins... YEA!

Today the hubby has a dr appt so he threw off my morning schedule already... I have lots of laundry to do and a dog to give a bath too. Then just tons of cleaning and organizing. This afternoon we'll head into town for a workout, shopping then our weekly Monday afternoon quilt group. A couple ladies asked me to bring my embroidery stuff to see if I would start helping to organize an embroidery group too. Not sure I'm into that idea... I'm not good at it, find it difficult and time consuming and my machine uses a lot of thread so it gets expensive. But we will see... who knows I'll prob get sucked into something else

Hope everyone enjoys their day!

Happy Stitching,

Margaret

I agree GO Packers. A great game. Though my DH was a little disappointed being a Bears fan. I told him it was our turn to go this year. I also agree with too much food and drink. Woke up this morning to a sick kiddo. Hopefully that will change for tomorrow and not be a long lasting thing. He has a little temp. Ruins my whole plans of working out though this morning. Will have to do a workout at home, and I usually find an excuse not to workout at home. I did get my half square triangles pinned to their square for the next step of the block I am working out. HOpe to get those sewn today and also my PMS block cut out and sewed together. I also have a meeting tonight to go to for the school board and issues that the community wants addressed. Should be a busy day.

Have a great day
Patty good luck on those pads.
Donna good luck on the Linus quilts.
Pat on the other thread good job at all the quilting.

It was a very exciting Sunday!!! I love it when my team wins.

Today I will work on a few quilt tops for "The Linus Project". My LQS will take completed quilts and/or quilt tops as donations. Since I really don't have time to do completed quilts I was pleased to find out they also take quilt tops so I can start using some of my stash up for these tops. I meet monthly with 3 quilty friends at one of our houses. We go through our stash and each go home with material to make several donation quilts/tops. It's a lot of fun and we get to use up our stash as well!

Have a safe and healthy day,
Take care,
Donna

Very exciting Sunday makes for a tired Monday! 24 Jan 2011 05:11 #54642

Well, after having so much food and drink during the exciting games yesterday I slept quite late this morning! Today my sister is delivering some batting she picked up for me last week.... she wants a couple of pads made for her new couch and loveseat as she has two dogs they are unable to re-train to stay off the new furniture! :D So I will quick make those up for her today and tomorrow probably and then get back to my sampler quilt.

I found several yards of this camouflage like fabric in my stash that I told her about and she thinks that will work...she will look at it when she comes today and hopefully approve it.

So that is my plan for the day...hope you all have a great Monday! :P
