Had a wonderful time today with my UFO group.....Bee Happy Stitchers. We met for the first time in my new studio and it is going to work our well. My granddaughter is having her birthday party and it is going to be a sleepover. Oh, no a bunch of 11 and 12 year old girls giggling all night long. Of course she lives with her family in our home. Sooooooo, my DH and I are staying at the Deer Valley Lodge tonight. Just don't think we could stand the noise. Just getting too old I guess.

Wishing all well.

Hello all,

It's been a crazy couple of days. Thursday I FINALLY got back to "organizing my house" project and got the kitchen done. Then that night we decided last minute to come up to Madison for the weekend. Left Friday morning (the hubby had a funeral and then today a 50th b-day party for my aunt) so we had a nice time seeing everyone. I got a baby quilt basted!!! So I am deciding on whether I want to just do a quick stippling so it's done or actually put some more time into and do a nice design. I'm soooo tempted to do the stippling b/c I can do it in an afternoon and then get the darn thing off since it's already a year late. But I always feel awful because I didn't do "what the quilt was telling me it needed” I dunno it's hard to explain... So my dilemma! I did get another boarder mitered on my bom that is wayyyyyy late. Tomorrow I would like to get that done... but who knows... Hope everyone has a good night. We're expecting friends to watch the Packer game with us.

Happy Stitching,

Margaret

We got a couple fresh inches of snow.....one of the neighbors just came by and plowed the driveway.... nice guy! DH was going to go do it but said it was windy and he thought it would just blow back....LOL whatever! I got the second section of my irish chain quilt done and set that aside to start working on a quilt for my neice... I am using up some 12 1/2 inch squares I had from a block of the month from another quilt forum... had used up some of them in my DGD's sampler quilt so have to make 10 more to get a queen size quilt.

Have a great Saturday....I'm counting down the hours til the Packers play tonight! Gonna be a nail biter I think!

Holy Cow the sun is finally shining and the snow has melted off my driveway finally....yippee! Today I begin my packing to go to Southern California for the Road2California Quilt Show next week....leaving on Monday morning early....it's a 9 hour drive. Excited! Many fat quarters of Batik are in the washer to be ready for my class with TQS' Mickey Depre on Wednesday. It should be a fun class. This afternoon I will be getting my Bernina 440QE all bathed and oiled up so she is humming along nicely (having thoughts of a Featherweight to take to classes....hmmmm, need to really start looking for one, my QE girl is just soooo heavy) Then finally get all the notions together in one place to take along. Have a great weekend everyone....Karen in Northern Nevada 8)

Good morning. We are getting another "dusting" of snow. That's what most of our snow has been this season. I'm OK with that!!! :)
My sister and I are going to a friends for a sewing day! We try to do it once a month. She has lots of space and loves for us to come to her house. We usually have about 4/5 and it works out well.
I have been very busy this week with work and a new DGS. Alex was born on 1/11/11... Not only did I get my 3rd DGS...I also won the baby pool! :) Good thing I got his baby quilt done by Christmas..
Darce, have fun shopping for the wedding dress. I went with one of my DDs last year and it was fun.
I guess I'd better get ready for my sewing day. Everyone have a great day! Anne

I got the Keepsake Quilting catalog, too, Darce. The words, "Restrain yourself" kept going through my head! I am living vicariously through you and your wedding dress shopping excursion today. It sounds so exciting! It's snowing here in Michigan, too. I have been playing on the site here, uploaded a picture of my antique quilt which is my pride and joy. Tried to upload a profile picture. But I must not have done it right. Help anyone?

I have a little housekeeping to do before company comes tonight but right now while DD is still asleep I am going to attack a block for an exchange I have been putting off.

Have a good day everyone.

Just checked dd's flight and so far, it's on time! So it's wedding dress shopping for us today :D - with a LOT of driving for me thrown in there - 3 hours to pick up dd2 from college, an hour back to the airport to pick up dd1, city driving to the bridal shop and they to the girls' cousin to see their new baby, the hour back to take dd2 back, then the 3 hours back here - whew. That's of course normal driving times and doesn't take into account new inch or so of snow or the wind that's supposed to come up and blow it all around. We'll manage tho. Tomorrow we want to meet with the photographer and the Events Center, then Monday back to the Twin Cities to another bridal shop (about 2 hours from here), but we'll stay over up there Mon night as dd flies out at 7 am Tues morning.

Didn't do any quilty stuff last night beyond paging thru the new Keepsake Quilting catalog. Oh are there ever some projects in there calling my name!
