Eileen, It's a New Day, don't beat yourself up. You are making steps towards your goal everyday. I have found from the TAW (The Artist Way) writing things out that are getting to me really helps to release the frustration behind the desire to munch. You might try writing down your emotions on your food list. I joined a website called FitDay.com awhile ago. I need to look back into it too, but anyway, there you can keep track of your food really easily. We are here to support one another in every way we can think of, what ever it takes we will all meet are goals.

Margo all your posts are great to read. Everyone here loves you chat away. People are reading and being inspired all over the world. Isn't that amazing when you think about it?

Thanks, Judy! Actually, it's kinda SCARY when you really think about it!
I have probably shared more with this wonderful community than I have with anyone locally! I've just let it all hang out! (Well....maybe there are still some secrets, but we don't need to go there!! LOL!!)

Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Okay you binged yesterday. Today is a new day. Get right back on track and I think it will help you to write down everything you eat and your exercise and to get in a habit report here a little more often like Margo suggested. It took months and in my case years to put the pounds on and it is taking just as long to take them off. It just isn't as much fun.

We are there for you and you can do it.

Eileen, would it help if you post a note here every time you binge? Maybe knowing that you have to share it with us might be incentive to be more careful about what you eat? Or....maybe you could share with us the times you WANT to binge, but find the will-power to not eat so much? Just trying to to help.

Today I splurged and ate a larger lunch than I should have, but I'll take an extra walk this evening to make up for it. I have found that because I'm reporting to the TQS community on Friday, it's easier to cut back on my intake and to keep up my walking every day. (I'm sure that there are a lot of members who could care less about what I eat, and whether or not I loose weight, but it helps me to post it, and they don't have to read it!)

I'm starting over TODAY!!! I have to do something-it's gotten to the point where I won't look in a full length mirror!
Yesterday was going to be day 1 but I binged big time at lunch. It seems every time I say I'm going to do this, I binge eat. Anybody have any ideas? I'm wide open here.
So, I'm writing all my food down and I'll check in on Friday.

It's so great to read of the progress that is being made!! Personally, I think that it helps me to know that other TQS friends are dealing with the same issues, and that sharing ideas and support is helping all of us!

Good on ya, Patti!!!!
I gained when I went to MA with hubby. I've been careful with what I've eaten since I've been home and I've lost 2 of the 4 pounds I gained on the trip!!
2 down, 42 to go!
I just read that MSNBC article Sandy posted. I'm going to start my food journaling again. I'm not quitting!!

What a super day Patti! One of my sisters found Curves to be just right for her too and really stuck to it. Finding you not only didn't gain but lost even more must have been a real thrill. Good for you!!

Patti

Congratulations on joining Curves. It is great, it has help me a lot in the last 3 years. I just have to pay more attention at what I eat.

Glad to hear you are feeling better.

I used the treadmill again today, I am off to a good start. I bought a new scale and had to take it back because it didn't work. I bought another one and haven't had the chance to check it out yet. I will probably start fresh on Friday because my other scale was not accurate.

Well, I'm finally ready to make an entry! Since I said I'd join the group I've been on vacation, ate - didn't exercise - came home, and got back in the saddle!

My doctor placed me on Byetta (a tiny injection twice a day) because of my insulin resistance (pre-diabetic) status. It replaces the leptin that's missing in our system when our insulin becomes resistant .

Anyway, I've lost 4-1/2 # and feel I'm finally off to a good start. My mind-frame is in place, my vacation-free schedule is now somewhat in place, - and I'm loosing weight. Yippee!

Lynn

Oh, I didn't mention the 4# I GAINED on vacation, did I?
