Marsha, that place looks wonderful (and very pieceful). I keep my fingers crossed that it'll be a success. If something like that would be somewhere here in the UK I'd save up and go once a year - the perfect holiday for a quilter!

I understand about the speed limit. When you're least expecting it, the speed limit goes to sixty from sixty five on Interstate 77 in Statesville. I think they do that deliberately to catch out of state people. We've been down here a year and have seen a fair number of speed traps around that area.
The house is very nice but I love the sewing area that's been fixed up.

I got a speeding ticket in Statesville years ago. Used to go by it on my visits to my parents. They have moved but next time in NC will have to check this out. Sounds like a great place for a retreat. Will just remember to drive the limit! Sandi in FL

Wow, it looks like a great store! I don't know when I'll be going that way again, but I will certainly try to find time to make a trip to visit the store if I possibly can.

The store is just off exit 54 on Interstate 77. You turn onto Jennings Road and she's in a brick building on the left. It looks small from the outside but she just keeps adding to it. Eventually she will move to a larger location. She's a great lady.

I grew up in Statesville! My mom now lives in Mooresville, on Lake Norman, but Statesville isn't that far a drive if I'm already up there visiting. Where is Creative Crafters?

If anyone is living near or will be coming through Statesville, North Carolina, Tammy at Creative Crafters has a beautiful place fixed up for quilting retreats. Her store is new and getting off the ground. I spent a day at the house she has fixed for the retreat. It's incredible. The main house has a fully equipped kitchen and the beds and bedrooms are decorated so nicely. Her "pool" house is set up for serious sewing. She has brand new individual machine tables with their own lights and trash can to match and comfortable chairs. There's cutting tables and irons. The windows are floor to ceiling and there's a lot of natural light. Outside the sewing building there's a pool for warmer weather and an gorgeous outdoor barbeque area.
I like to see quilt stores succeed. If you are interested you could call Tammy at the store.
