If the sale of the Executive Inn does not close in the next couple of days, the buyer is saying that he will be walking away from the table. If that happens I doubt there will be a show in Paducah next year. There are still a lot of people that are hoping that the deal closes because we would like to get our money back from the lottery fiasco from this year's show.
The AQS folks have advised people not to make non-refundable reservations for Paducah, 2010 and no dates have been posted for that show. As more info becomes available they will post on the AQS website.
Kathy, thanks for your input. I've never been to this quilt show, but am looking forward to it. We're considering nearby accommodations also, maybe a rental house. But it sounds like it's not too early to start looking. Thanks, Patty
Paducah is the quilt capital of USA I don't think it will ever move. I really don't know how far ahead you would need to book motel reservations because we took our RV motor home and stayed at a camp ground. I would say if they take reservations a year ahead I would go ahead and book reservations. Paducah quilt show is huge. Thousands showing up for the quilt show. Book as early as they will let you book. We booked 4 months to the date and got lucky to get a site actually last site at Victory camp ground we would book motel instead next year. My bet would be between 6 months to a year ahead to put in your reservations. I'm sure there are others more knowledgeable then I because this was our very first tripand It's quite amazing such a great time!
We highly recomend the Paducah quilt show to every quilter.
Good Luck!
Kathy
