I have heard that Ricky Tims will have a booth at Paducah, and that
TQS members are meeting there every day at 1pm. Sounds like fun!

Our reservations were made today at the Victory Camp ground only two miles away from Paducah. DH and I hope to buy afew days pass to the quilt show 21-24. I now need to make two TQS badges. If you see us going down the road in our older Rv with a logo on front that says 'On Top Of The World' then BeepBeep! We will be pulling a trailor/truck also.
Kathy& Pete are on a mission!!! LOL.
I'll be looking forward to all our meets. T.C.

Hotels in Paducah "sell out" early. Most require a prepayment in full. Which I do not understand, as they know they will be able to rent those rooms at the last minute. So just call, or do an internet search. Parking can be dicey. I found it was easiest when I went early for classes.
I am coming down on the Thursday on a bus. Hope to see some TQS members then!

paducah 13 Mar 2009 19:42 #33254

I have never been to Paducah before, but I entered a quilt this year and got in! I don't know anything about how the show is set up,
can anyone tell me a little bit about it? Is everything set up in the Expo Center that they are remodeling? How hard is it to get parking at the
Park and Ride?

We reserved a hotel that is pretty far away from Paducah...what are the
chances of getting a hotel closer in at the last minute?

I appreciate anything that anyone can tell me! Thanks!!

I'll be there from Monday through Saturday. I waited way too long to register for classes and only got into two that I really wanted, but there's lots to do in and around Paducah so I plan on making a grand vacation of it.
Does anyone know if there will be a TQS presence there? Last year Alex, Ricky and Libby L. did a Super Seminar which I attended and it was a chance to meet at least a few of my TQS buddies. Hope to see lots of you there this year.

Kathy - Thanks so much. Doug is a fly fisherman and they go down almost to Belize for a week every year. His reservations are made and paid for. No Paducah for me this year. You're a sweetheart for giving me an alternative. You'll just have to have fun for me and let me know how it goes when you get home. Carolyn

My local guild had a bus trip planned but, due to lack of response, had to cancel. My husband would load up the RV and take me but his Mexico fishing trip is the same date. So I'm afraid I won't be there. Boo hoo. All of you, please come to Houston in October!

I wish...! The only year I managed to get hotel reservations & sign up for a bunch of classes, I ended up moving coast-to-coast instead, & had to cancel my trip. :(

Maybe next year!

I'm trying to decide if I want to do a one day bus trip. I am doing one to the Chicago show.
