If I remember correctly, Santa is a nice, old man, and you have been a good girl, Renata. I think you and your beautiful quilt are safe. Not sure about Rita though. She can be a little lively and cheeky. :)

I think it's a great idea to split the quilting between the two different systems.

You never know, Lorchen, Santa might wrestle it off me and you might find it on your bed!

Thanks, Lorchen. I've spoken with my sister and I'll probably do a panto design at least where the trees are when I visit with her later this week since she has an HQ 16--it will be faster. I may then take it home and do the border on my Bernina. By the way, Lorchen, I think you're right... we might just have to sleep on it, unless I can divert Santa with cookies and single malt! :D

Can't wait to see the finished quilt, Renata. The top is goooorgeous!!

But I would sleep on top of it on Christmas Eve, Renata. If Santa sees it he may 'liberate' it and take it to the North Pole with him. :)

Yes, Andrée, that's exactly what I meant... I don't know whether I heard the term somewhere or just made it up... but I could not think of a better way of explaining it. Draw the holiday light onto the fusible, cut out as much of the center portion of the fusible as possible, then press the fusible edge in the shape of a light onto the backside of the fabric and cut out the shape. I really wish I had done that, but I think I'm the only one who will notice any seam lines under the lights...
Great! Just like in the BOM!

Thanks!

If I had to do it again, I would pillow the lights instead of using Lite Steam-a-Seam 2 throughout the whole light because of the piano key border. Not that the seams show through that much, I guess I'm a bit of a perfectionist... :( . Just passing it on if this lesson learned is of interest. I actually tested putting in the lights in three different ways but did the test on a solid background so I never even thought about the seems showing through...

Renata, what do you mean "pillow"? Use fusible only on the outside edge?
