Re: Finishing a Grandmothers Flower Garden 02 Oct 2013 04:43 #110822

There are two separate videos, by Linda Taylor on thequiltingschool.com. Linda shows a lot of different beautiful ideas on quilting The Grandmother Flower Garden and, she is using a longarm quilting machine. The quilt she is quilting is a vintage hand pieced quilt but, when she is finished with it, it looks wonderful. I got all kinds of ideas from her for quilting my Grandmothers Flower Garden. Hope this helps

Also, Marci Baker of Alicia's Attic has a great video for applying binding to those odd angles. Just do a search on YouTube for Marci Baker.

I finished one my sister-in-law hand pcd. It was forest green hexies with scrap flowers. I hand stitched 1/4 in. from seams. Used bias strips to bind. Daughter used it for several yrs then gave it to her mother-in-law. She loves it.
