I have alot of the old poly/cotton blends. That is what I let the grandkids use to make charity quilts. Years ago, that was all most of us used. It lasted forever, but when mixed with cotton, the cotton falls apart first. I have been tempted to replace some embroidered cotton blocks because the poly/cotton still looks so good, and the cotton embroidered blocks were falling apart. No, I guess I am too lazy for that.

pennyhal OFFLINE Posts: 68	Gosh, I'd forgotten about the poly/cottons. I had used them once years ago to get the color I wanted. Colors are still bright. I bought my main fabric yesterday now that I feel confident that the batiks won't be a problem. I was worried that they'd be too hard to hand quilt.

I always prewash my fabric (except pre-cuts), so I obviously think that's a good idea all the time, but many don't and still get great results. I say go for it! Nancy
