Judy, the best person to check with about this would be Ellie Sienkiewicz: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Te53zI_gMEw
You can see some quilting by contemporary quilters in this video.

And all of her books are excellent resources. http://www.amazon.com/Elly-Sienkiewicz/e/B000APRITQ

Also, our own Sue Garman designs amazing Baltimore Album quilts: http://suegarman.blogspot.com/search?updated-min=2011-01-01T00:00:00-06:00&updated-max=2012-01-01T00:00:00-06:00&max-results=13
In this blog entry you can see Sue with Ellie at last year's (2111) Awards Celebration in Houston where Sue's quilt "Friends of Baltimore" took first place.

If you do a Google search for "antique Baltimore Album Quilts" there are lots of pictures of both new quilts and old ones, and you can check there to see how some of the real antiques were quilted. Hope that helps!

Do the antique Baltimore Album Quilts have quilting on the applique pieces of very intricate designs? Was most of the quilting done with crosshatch and feathers?
