Thank you ladies for your kind words and encouragement.

Norma. I know what you mean about translating to English. That happens to me sometimes when reading or watching tv in Spanish. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond to my post, specially because your name is the same as my best friend of 20+ years back in México. :)

From México, living in sunny Arizona.

Are chickens anything like canaries?

Plenty of wet feathers today so I'll dip them as they are :D

To make a link you click on URL and put an = sign inside the first bracket after url, then paste your link and then between the two lots of url in brackets clink font colour choose one you want and then write something like Lois's link :D

If you quote my post you'll see it :D

and I love the pattern :D

I was not suggesting the gulloutine for your lovely girls. :( :( :( I just knew whether you pluck or wait for the molt there is no way to apply dye without having wet feathers.

By the way, I do love chickens. Have you seen Maggie Walker's lovely flock of appliqued chickens. I want to have those ladies marching around my kitchen. I wish I knew how to add links to my posts. (Here's what happened when I copy and paste. I still don't know how to embed a link.) http://www.maggiewalkerdesign.com/quilts/gardenparty/info.html

I guess I do know how to embed links. It just happens when you copy and past! Who knew? Da!

I heard a good chicken story, about a lady who had knocked the chicken on the head to kill it for supper, then plucked it, and then put it on a plate in the larder for when here DH came home so he could draw it. When he opened the larder door, it was standing up and looking rather surprised

Thanks Nancy - the overall effect looks better than the individual stitching, trust me. :D

According to Charlie Brown from Peanuts: the secret is to look fantastic at a distance
I guess the same is related to quilting

Reminds me of another quote from Peanuts. Schroeder is playing the piano and very difficult music comes out. That's when he says: nothing is so difficult that you can't skip it I hope I translated it to something understandable

Limbania, I know what you mean about not being able to stop dyeing once you start! Every time I dye fabric, I go back in the house and get out more fabric, since I have dye left at the end, and I don't want to waste any  . Sometimes, i just pour all the dyes together and dye the fabric. It often turns a brownish color but that's okay- it's a neutral, right???

Yeah, I have yards of hand dyed fabric waiting for me to use it. it's so fun dyeing it!
