Rhonda, when I need a really light weight batting I like Quilter's Dream Cotton in the "Request" weight. It will "breathe" better than even the lightest weight polyester so it should work well for your towering inferno!

Advice regarding finishing a quilt. 06 Jul 2011 20:35 #66645

I need some advice from you all. I have made a king size applique quilt top. I wanted to make a "coverlet" because my husband is so hot natured (my towering inferno  ). I took it my friend who is a longarmer and she started to quilt it with only the top and back. The results were "rough" as she called it. She feels that it will not work, that the quilt will pucker without something in between the layers. I could tie it but only want to do that as a last resort. Any suggestions on what to use in place of batting that will keep us cool for the summer and will quilt well? I hope I have explained this well enough for you all. Thanks for your imput.
