TOPIC: Has anyone used Fairfield 80/20 batting

Re: Has anyone used Fairfield 80/20 batting 16 May 2011 19:55 #64770

Drat....didn't want to hear this Eileen, but thank you for the warning. I think I might either use a warm n natural I have or else order Quilter's dream batting. If the quilt was for me, I would use it but not for this since it is for my daughter.

I used it a couple of years ago and had nothing but problems. I won't use it for my own quilts and I won't accept it from my customers. it was thin in places and very clumpy in others.

Thanks, Magnus...I was hoping to hear this. It makes sense...I have heard of the brand forever and never heard anything negative.

I have used it and had no problems with it. Machine quilted quite nicely. The advantage of the 20% synthetic is that the batting has less memory once folded for a long time and therefore your quilts do not look as creased if they have been tucked away for a long time. Good luck!

I have a quilt top I need to get quilted for my daughter. I have a Fairfield 80/20 batting I can use...I plan to machine quilt. Has anyone had good or bad experience with this batting?
