Eileen,
Jeri Riggs has a terrific tutorial on her blog.

I have to do a facing on my abstract quilt and I have no idea how to do one. I have Vikki Pignatelli's book, "Quilting by Improvisation" and she does a short lesson on it but I need more. Does anyone know of a website or blog that does an in depth explanation? I'm under the gun here.
