Lissette -

I'm not sure if HP BJS is just for Vivera inks, but you can email the manufacturer, C. Jenkins, and they respond VERY quickly.

See http://www.cjenkinscompany.com/Customer_Support_s/15.htm

Beth, do you know if the HP BJS is still applicable for use on non-vivera hp's? It'd be nice to use some of my stash for printing. Lissette

for those of you using Bubble Jet Set, be advised that the manufacturer has a special formula designed strictly for Hewlett Packard printers and Vivera inks - HP Bubble Jet Set. You can get it off the website. I found that it substantialy improved the quality of the printing when the fabric was soaked in that versus ordinary BJS.

Just a thought. BJS is a LOT cheaper than store-bought fabric printer sheets -- and you can use fabrics with backgrounds other than white!

Thanks, Julie! I will see if mine needs a good cleaning, or something to fix the feed mechanism. Plus I will look for the sheets that are working for you. I really appreciate the advice!!! :!: :!: Mary Kay

Mandy, that's the same HP that I have, I also print on my Lexmark x125 and the quality is great also. I just have remind myself to check the ink levels.

BTW, the other day my DH suggested I buy the generic ink refill kits for my printing needs, I was in shock! I had to explain to him that it wasn't possible -- the quality of my fabric prints would suffer and my projects would fade befor they were even quilted.

Sandy, I'm not sure about the bubblejet, did you check with your lqs? They might know how to help you.

I have the Epson Photostylus RX600 which was kind of pricey at the time but has been worth its weight in gold for years. I never have problems jamming and it takes my home made freezer paper backed pages all the time.

I just got a HP Business Inkjet 2800 at work that will print up to 20" wide. If you treat the fabric in the Bubblejet is there a time limit on how long you have to print on the fabric. With freezer paper I could eliminate seams and have a good size project.

I have a HP Deskjet 810c - not a high end machine but not a bad one either, and i have had wonderful results printing on fabric using the June Taylor printable fabric sheets. Check out the wedding ring quilt in my personal photos in profile. All the wedding pictures were printed on this machine.

Mary Kay, I was checking out the HP website, they have a craft
e-newsletter that I get, they often have printed fabric projects. I've been looking into them also. My only req. is that the replacement printer be a flat bed for homework assignments and copying templates from my quilting books.

Well, using a different printer worked (it is one or two years younger) and it fed the fabric sheets ok. But the quality of the printing is not as good as the photo printer that I have been trying to make work for a couple days. So......... I am going to finish my current quilt project, and I may have to consider upgrading printers to be able to use for my quilting projects. Any recommendations on a printer that feeds fabric on paper AND has high quality sharpness in the printing? Thanks again for your advice! Mary Kay

Thanks, Nancy and Lissette, for your advice! :D I will give it a try again tonight. I am feeding the sheets individually... and that's not working. So I am going to try another printer and see if that works. Thanks, too, for the suggestion  :!: on the fabric and wax paper - what a GREAT option to the expensive fabric sheets while I am doing all this trial and error. I will let you know how it goes. Mary Kay, are you feeding each sheet individually? With the June Tailor sheets that I used, I was able to print a 2x2 with no errors when I fed the sheets individually. But when I tried to stack the sheets I ended up with photos printing half way down on a sheet. I used 4 sheets when the photo should've only used 2.

Hope this helps. Lissette
