You are right, not exact design. I attached the You Tube I referred to before. Couldn't you just quilt curved lines instead of the straight ones in the design? Not sure. I'd have to play with it. I agree, it is cool.

Following your lead, I did several searches using "basket weave" and found a number of YouTube videos; but none are like the design I'm seeking.
I'm sure you are right. I need to search for a stencil.

Pretty basket weave. My first guess is you would have to mark a grid to follow or a use a stencil. You would have to do some backtracking to keep it continuous. I did a quick search for how to quilt basket weave pattern. This is one link that shows a similar pattern to give you an idea. Perhaps someone else has an idea. Or you can also try searching.

I've seen this interesting background stitch on a few of of the quilts recently featured on The Quilt Show. I can't figure out how it is stitched. It looks like a complicated design for an advanced quilter. (1) Can someone tell me the name of the design? (2) Can someone explain how it is done, or send a link to an explanation? Please and thank you.
