I find those multi-directional patterns a waste of space because of keeping the line straight. Sounds like it hasn't been improved with newer models. Wouldn't it be nice if we saw a Bernina video on this? We haven't seen a new one since management changed. Maybe someone followed their educational emails and knows of this.

BJ, I don't think it's just you. My machine does skew the stitches so I find it best to use them in the embroidery hoop. My dealer couldn't correct it, but he told me about the trick of using the balance tool to tweak it, but I have not spent the time trying to get it to work

I have an 830 LE and some of the stitches are quite wide. I don't think it's quite 2 inches, but I'll have to measure and see. I find it hard to keep it all straight enough to continuously line up perfectly, but that's probably just me. You can load the stitches into the embroidery module however and use it that way. I do find the ability to stitch in multiple directions to be very handy upon occasion. :)

My Viking is an old machine and for some of it's stitches, it move horizonally--but NOT two inches.

Hi
I recently heard someone say on some newer model machines, built in stitches could sew up to 2 inches wide. I did ask how and the reply is that the feed dogs also work horizontally. Does anyone know what machines can do that? Very interesting.
Thanks
