Just bought the book/ patterns... I am plotting it out on my CARD TRICK baby quilt... I am modifying the blocks to use my hand print on each block.....

NOT only will the baby be wrapped in my hands/ arms... but it will look like someone is holding the CARDS in the card trick block.. I think pretty cleaver.

Second motifs will be hearts, clubs, spades and diamonds.

I love quilting with theams that fit the block patterns.

Just being silly I guess.

Saw this technique on Fons and Porter series 1000... I am going to try it next time I have a baby quilt to make... looks like fun. .. I looks like something simple I can master.

MY GF does a similar technique where she quilt a floral motif using her embroidery machine in squares .... She then free motion quilts the leaves and vines going around the leaves... very pretty.

I would recommend the "book" Twice Quilted" continuous line quilting designs by Glorianne Cubbage. I just took a workstop with Ronnie from the Quilt Shop in Danbury, Connecticut. Not only did we have a good time, but I think this is a great technique. It makes me look much better than I am.
