TOPIC: Is there hand piercing/quilting class in the bay area?

23 Aug 2009 20:49 #37814

The Bay Area has many quilting stores. What part of the Bay Area do you specifically want to find a class in? Some may offer both hand and machine, others just machine quilting. I live in Alameda and the ones that immediately come to mind are 1) Quilt Fans in Alameda, 2) Cottong Patch in Lafayette, 3) Stone Mountain and Daughter Fabrics in Berkeley (cottons and fashion fabrics -- variety of classes), 4) New Pieces in Albany, 5) Quilter's Inn in Danville, 6) Bolt's End in Castro Valley. Also, try the schools. I have heard the San Lorenzo Adult School offers great classes, SF City College has a Saturday quilting class, and the local Sr. Center in Alameda has classes. If you need more shop names, contact me at mailto:katmom_3@comcast.net and I can see what others I know of.

Try Thimblecreek in Concord. Their website is Thimblecreek.com. they have both hand piecing and quilting. You might also try Eddie's Quilting Bee in Sunnyvale.
