Libbi,

Your block and the Santa quilt are just gorgeous ! It's inspiring to see you push your machine and use all its abilities.

I am absolutely enthralled with applique in the hoop. :D I recommend that anyone who has a machine with an embroidery module try this technique to add to their repertoire of quilting techniques. I am digitizing the Hugs & Kisses BOM and am having a lot of fun. I took one of Joanne Winn's courses at QU, then bought some designs to understand the process, and now am digitizing from the B&W drawings. The next step is to design my own. Since I have problems with my hands, I have turned to the machine for constructing, quilting, and binding my quilts. I am also lazy and all that template making, tracing, fusing, cutting (OK, you do have to cut fabric along the stitch lines), and turning over edges made me crazy (and my hands ache). I also vowed that if I bought the 830, by golly, I was going to get my money's worth out of it.
