Rosemary I'm loving both of your gifts, the table runner and placemats really caught my eye they are so unique - love them. I don't like to show my ignorance but... can someone please tell me what a CW challenge is and can I join in?
Best Wishes
Pam

Love your runner and placemats, Rosemary. You just inspired me to think about an idea for a springtime table setting... :)

For me, doing a Libby project would also be trying out a new technique.

Whatever the challenge be, since these will not need to hang together in an exhibit why even have size requirement be part of the challenge. If we want to do challenges fairly often I think most of us would choose small, but since we're just posting and not hanging these quilts why not let size up to the maker. This is the person who didn't notice the size requirement for the portrait challenge. I'll tell you now, the organizers did not kick me out because I got it wrong.

I agree. These are for our own use, so we should make them any size we want. I've ignored the size requirements myself. If we ever do another challenge for a show, then, like Lois says, we'll need to pay attention to the size requirements of that show.

If it'd be small like the last challenge, I would give a Libby project a try.

First of all, Rosemary, I love your gifts and I love the fact to you posted them even past the deadline. Just because you didn't make the deadline doesn't mean we didn't want to see what you made. Hoping others of you follow suit.

Secondly, Nancy, I love everyone of your ideas. I think they are all very inspiring. I especially love the Inspired by Libby one. I have been wanting to try some of her techniques. Actually, I had thought of the new technique one too.

Wonderful gifts, Rosemary!!

I have a couple of challenge ideas:

We could have a little "Inspired by Libby" challenge where you either use one or more of Libby's techniques or make a little quilt inspired by one of Libby's. This would be a good time for this one since we can watch Libby's DVD on TQS.

Another thought is a Beatles challenge -- make a quilt based on one of the Beatles' songs. They had and exhibit with this challenge in Houston this year and it was fun.

Another thought is a use a new technique challenge where you have to use a technique that is new to you but you haven't tried yet.

Just a couple of ideas.....

It looks like you got there before me Wendy. Sorry to be so slow - sometimes life really does get in the way of the quilting life.

Beverly, have you thought of an idea?

Yoo Hoo Rita, I added Lois's self portrait to your album but it wouldn't let me edit the wording. Can you put a description and Lois's name to it. Thank you xx
