A dear friend gently reminded me to take a photo, which I did today, of a quilt I finished last month. It's the first large quilt I've quilted on my domestic machine. Now that I've gotten this one under my belt, I'm hopeful my quilting will be better next time. All the straight lines were done free-motion, some straighter than others, but I don't think it will matter much in the end, it looks organic. Our niece will be stopping by next month and receiving it as a gift. She wanted something that would look good with her Ethan Allen furniture in her new house but soft enough that she could curl up under it on the couch with a good book!

Don't forget to stop by my place on your way to Marilyn's. My stash is so big that I'm embarrassed to show it. But at least I know that if I'm poor when I retire, I can still quilt for the rest of my life!

Nancy, that was exactly how I thought before I retired. Another quilting friend and I were retiring at the same time. Two years before we made the move, she told me we were in the "red zone", meaning work time was winding down, and we both needed to enjoy picking up fabric and any other sewing goodie we thought we might possibly need when the big day came! And we did exactly that!!

I'd join you in a heart-beat, Wendy! Will you stop by Washington, DC to collect me on the way to Washington State? Then you can rummage through my stuff too! Many of my scraps are neatly wrapped around 4"x6" of foam board, really easy to pick from...

Wow Geneva great view, I'd love a rummage in your bins as well. You joining me Renata?.

Hope your mum picks up now. Rough for you all. Enjoy your sewing room, mine was my sons's room and he kept coming back! Still does but just for a few days so that's good :)

Nice, Geneva! You have a great view and wonderful light and good space--no wonder you enjoy your quilting so much--what a great place to do it in :) Glad things are settling down for you on the home front and that you can get back to your sewing Hope all stays well with your mom.

Hi there!
I've been enjoying the pictures of everyone's sewing spaces. It's kept me from going bonkers while sitting in ER and hospital with my mom. Hopefully she can go home today. We've been doing this routine every month for the last 6 months or so. It's exhausting for both of us!

When we moved here to Eastern Washington we had our home built. And I got a whole room to myself for sewing! Yay! I love going in there and just being in my space. Now that our kids moved out yesterday, and my mom will hopefully be better, I can get back to sewing! Here you go:
This is my view from Sybil. It's a little cloudy today, but hopefully you can see Rattlesnake Mountain.

Here is my cutting table. I love the transom window above me!

Here is the design wall. It's 8' x 8'.

And here is the fabric and other stuff! I have bins for batiks in color order as well as bins for regular cottons in color order. Plus, special threads, projects in process and stuff.

Thanks for all your great conversations! I enjoy checking in with you every day.

Thank you all.....Loise the garden is tiny the tree's are in the garden at the back.
For some reason my sewing room looks brighter in the picture than it really is, but it's my space and I love it.
