Ritzy, as I can't draw a lick, Dover is my best friend! I'm betting that your drawing skills are better than mine, and the way you used the image in your mug rug was pure art!!

Mathew, welcome aboard! I still owe something like 6 mug rugs, but could exchange with you after I'm done with those. That might give you some time to get started using your new machine. You'll have to share with us what machine you got and how the learning goes!

As Ritzy's doing true confessions today, I'll make one too: I wish I had done the quilting on her mug rug but I just picked a decorative stitch on my machine and went to town practicing straight lines... But I will admit, I tried a few different things and I liked what I chose best.

I so agree with Charae, Ritzy. As far as I'm concerned, the Dover butterfly is just a shell, a point of departure, the rest is the artiste, you!
PS If it makes you feel any better, I'm going to borrow the swirls in the background quilting and put them in a mug rug I'm working on. I've put together a birthday mug rug for one of my husband's former colleagues and I've been wrecking my brain trying to figure out how to do the sky... it's been pieced for three days and I've been agonizing over it. Not any more, Ritzy!!! Thanks!
