Ooh they're both going to be scrumptious, no wonder you don't have time for mug rugs :D

Once my daughter goes back home to D. C. I might have time to show more pictures of what I've been doing. One thing is that I am knitting a "waterfall front" cardigan sweater on small needles with thin yarn, and it is entirely cabled. A lot of my evening time is going to that. (It's for ME!)

The quilting projects are still in pieces, because they just involve a lot of blocks or parts of blocks that I don't know the final locations of yet, because that will come later. One that is nearing completion is from the newsgroup RCTQ, a quilting group. We have done lots of smaller pieces and now we're assembling blocks. This is step 8, which we were given a few weeks ago.

I sure haven't been doing much lounging, so I don't know if I'm a lounge lizard or not, although I do hang out here a few minutes every day. :D I have three block of the month/mystery quilts that are in progress. I'm helping my daughter with drapes and curtains for the old row house she bought in D.C. (She needs some privacy and what was hanging in the house when she bought it was just disgusting.) I also have two finished tops layered and ready to free motion quilt. So "lounging" doesn't quite fit what I'm doing, but I do have to make time for TQS for at least a little time every day.

Lovely picture, Carole! So, you are not a 'mug rugger' but a 'lounge lizard'! :)

:D I've been here every day....but I've been quiet. I'm not doing mug rugs because I have too many other projects that I'm working on, but I thoroughly enjoy the ones everyone has been showing here. This is a talented, creative bunch of people!! I decided that since the other profile picture was taken last Christmas, it was time for a more timely one. This one is from the second weekend in November.

I honoured and celebrated Thanksgiving with a bowl of salad topped with several slices of Turkey breast, but added a glass of Southern Comfort as a treat.

Terrie, I'm soooo glad you are getting better!

Greetings from " the colonies".   It was a gloriously blustery day. In spite of bright sunshine the mercury in the thermometer could not push its way above freezing. Sights along the way reminded me of the song "Over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's house we go. The horse knows the way…" I was certainly happy to be traveling to "Grandma's House" in a nice warm car rather than in the horse drawn carriages our Amish and Mennonite neighbors were using. We even saw 2 young brave souls using an open buggy. It must be love for the young ones to venture out on a day like this. Unmarried folk are not permitted to use closed buggies. Like Ritzy I am grateful for a truly unbelievably rich life. Not speaking money here but I am talking about real riches among which is the good fortune to be able to spend time learning and working on a craft/art I love and make many worldwide friends while doing so. I am grateful for all of you wonderful lounge lizards.

Terrie---WooHoo--well enough to get online for a bit! Happy Belated Birthday!
Lotti--Happy Birthday and just hearing about all the lined up travel makes me envious and tired.
Rosemary--thank you for that "heartfelt" Thankgiving greeting(it was heartfelt, wasn't it? )
Maureen--another great muggie.

I am thankful for a God who loves us and hears our prayers; that my mom is still alive even if I get anxious because she is not taking care of herself like she should; I am thankful for my children and grands; for my dear husband who helps me in every way; for the creative talents I have been blessed to be able to cultivate and for my many TQS friends who lift me up and make me smile--just by being who they are.

This thread getting hijacked of other essential exchanges of information is always welcomed - life happens and it is great to share! :D

Lorchan - wonderful picture of the 3 of you.

Lotti & Terri - Many happy returns of the day, hope they were good ones.

Terri - delighted to see you popping in for a brief visit, we are all thinking of you.

Maureen - Nessie is brill.

Hope I got everything covered from the last 3 pages

Oh yeah - Happy Thanksgiving to the colonials amongst us

Lottie, glad you liked the Nessie mug rug. Great coincidence that it landed on the day of your birthday. The quilt on the postcard is one of the Q in the Park (hung outside in the woods) at a previous LLQS.
Gosh, you are definitely a well travelled woman of the world with all the travelling you do. Do you see any of the places while you are there?

Terrie, you are very welcome and I am glad a bit of sunshine came into your life at this point in time. “Recovery is s-l-o-w. But hopefully steady.” That is far better than fast and not healing properly. Take care

Belated happy birthday Lottie and Terrie. Terrie so glad to hear from you. Slow and steady wins the race. Take your time, we will be here. And a happy Thanksgiving to all those of you who celebrate.
